Fees and Turnaround Times
Where to find current fees and TATs
Fees and turnaround times (TATs) for medical device registration and dealer's licence applications are published on the HSA website and updated periodically:
hsa.gov.sg/medical-devices/fees
Always refer to this page for current rates before preparing a budget or submission timeline. Do not rely on figures cited in older guidance documents or third-party sources.
Factors affecting fees
Fees typically vary by:
- Device class (A, B, C, D)
- Evaluation route (Full, Abridged, Expedited, Immediate)
- Grouping type (single device vs grouped submission)
- Application type (new registration, change notification, licence application)
Turnaround time and Input Requests
Published TATs are measured from the date HSA confirms receipt of a complete, screenable application. Applications that fail initial screening are returned without being clocked (the TAT timer does not start). Input Requests (IRs) issued by HSA during evaluation pause the clock — the time spent waiting for the applicant's response is not counted toward the published TAT. The clock restarts once HSA receives the applicant's response.
Responding to IRs promptly and completely is the single most important factor in achieving published TATs.
